PMDC Acting National Chairman confused

PMDC Acting national Chairman of the People’s Movement Democratic Change (PMDC) Alhaji Bai Sama Sankoh has said in Freetown that he is confused because time is no longer in the party’s favour as district constituency regional elections are yet to be conducted. Adding that seven candidates have come up for the flag bearership with 5 for the national chairman with the party in dispute and this is yet to be ironed out by the party noting that the November 17th pool is just a skip to catch.

It could be recalled that the statement made by chance migration July 29 last year at the Sierra Leone People’s Party national delegate conference at the Miatta Conference Hall in Freetown, was not in line with the wishes and aspirations of the national executives and other prominent members of the party.

The national chairman, Alhaji Bai Sama Sankoh, instructed the National Secretary General William Tucker, and Minem Koroma Acting Public relation officer, to refute the statement on the grounds that the statement of the PMDC leader at the SLPP convention does not in any way reflect the virtues of the party which added to the suspension all the vocational executives at a party national council meeting held in Bo Town on 6th August 2011 and further lead to court action in October last year.

Another issue by PPRC, yet to be resolved, was the deliberate attempt by Charles Francis Margai to tamper with the party constitution without going through the due process.

According to a founding member who prefers to remain anonymous and told this medium those prominent party members at home and abroad advised the leader to go for outside count but he stuck his ground saying the court is his playground.

According to the Acting PRO Minem Koroma they decided to go to court because they do not want to put the party into a mess as the ruling senses as an indication that the law is different from personality. He calls on all like minded party supporters to resolve the past and move the party forward ahead of 17th November pools.

When asked what will be their next move, our source  responded by saying he believes Charles Margai is a level headed politician and will not do anything rational. The millions  of Leones fine to be paid by Margai will be deposited into the party’s account to conduct the primary elections.

The court concluded that an interlocutory injuction is thereby imposed on the activities and conduct of the respondents here in together with their agent and those acting with or under in relation to the PMDC party pending the hearing and determination of this action.

No further elections and or national conference of the PMDC should take place or be held until hearing and determination of this action, the lost of this application assessed at Le 5,000.000.00 should be borne by the respondent jointly and severally.

Petitions to  be heard and disposed of within two months from the date hereof.
