Speaking to Sierra Express Media in an interview Katina said her fiancé, Abdul Bah abducted their 12 year old son from his grandmother, Ya Wara kamara in Port Loko, Northern Sierra Leone, when the child went on holidays in June of 2011.
The mother said she later understood that Abdul, the father of 12 year old Mohamed Bah, took him to the Republic of Guinea and never brought him back.
She said she made several inquiries to know her son’s whereabouts but Abdul denied her access to information leading to discover where the 12 year old had been.
She said when Abdul Bah returned back from Guinea she arranged for his arrest and has since been in detention at the Pademba Road Maximum prisons for the past eleven months upon their appearance at the Magistrate Court No 2, trial chamber of Freetown. “The magistrate transferred the case to the high court upon Abdul’s continued refusal to give information about Mohamed’s whereabouts”, Katina stated.
She said she is suspecting that Abdul’s parents are on the move to bail him, which the magistrate’s court had denied him bail on the grounds that there is no guarantee that the child’s whereabouts would be known.
As the matter comes up today at the law court, Katina said she has doubt if her child would ever meet her in safe condition.
