Kids Advocacy urges government over HANCI’s adoption issue

The National Public Relations Officer of the Kids Advocacy Network, a pupil of St. Joseph’s Secondary School, Abibatu Bangura yesterday called on President Ernest Bai Koroma and his government to release the commission of inquiry report obtained in the Adeliza Showers inquest commissioned to dig deep into the controversial Help a Needy Child International’s (HANCI) alleged children adoption saga in the country.

She expressed concern over the delay in making the report public following a period of three months silence on the issue since the commission concluded its inquest and presented its report to the president.

She said she understands that parents of the children alleged to have been abducted are waiting in patience for justice on the verdict of the inquest to position their fate, while on the other hand the NGO standing accused of children trafficking have held their operations at low ebb because of the issue.

She commended the government for their concern by setting up an independent commission of inquiry which to her is a clear manifestation that President Koroma’s government is committed to the welfare of her citizens.

The kids PRO maintained that government needs to act on the issue now before the aggrieved parents go on the rampage to blackmail the hard earned reputation of the country and its leadership.
