Africell puts a smile on lecturer’s face
Current award winning GSM mobile telephony network provider, Africell has officially handed over a three bedroom house with one living room, kitchen, dining room, store garage and a new generator power plant to the lucky winner of ‘Dream a House’ in the networks latest promotion stock.
Mr. Martin Patrick George, Lecturer of the Mass Communications Department of Fourah Bay College was unveiled as the house winner over the weekend Saturday March 17 at the house site, Regent, in the mid west of the capital Freetown.
The final valuation of Mr. George’s house by building valuators stands at One Million Leones (Le 1,000,000,000). Making a statement, Africell’s Administrative Director, Abdul Aziz Gabisi said the greatest accomplishment in the world started with a dream, which is why, he said, Africell established its dream facility in Sierra Leone some two years ago from the year 2010. He said ever since Africell started its operations in Sierra Leone in 2005 they have always kept their dreams of becoming the leading network provider in the country.
Mr. Gabisi said Africell also had a dream to be second to none in meeting their corporate social responsibilities, saying they have achieved both through hard work, dedication, and commitment. He said individuals dwell on planet earth with burgeoning dreams of owning their houses someday. If by chance it happened that Africell is here with a mainstay to help elevate the stamina of dreams, there is no need worry to deal with the unreasonable, he says.
To be more specific on the lucky winner, Mr. Gabisi said Mr. George and family are now safe from the wrath of landlords and land ladies as Africell has made it possible for them to own their house.
Mr. Gabisi told the gathering that the lecturer won the house with his only subscription of 250 units recharge clause in a week where he qualified for the electronics draw.
He said ten subscribers were electronically selected during the manual draw at Country Lodge and a blind boy named Mohamed Kamara, aged 8, drew the winning slip which contained Mr. Patrick M. George’s name. He said Africell did award the young blind boy a full scholarship from primary to his tertiary education.
Thanking Africell with appreciation, Mr. George the lucky winner said, he never thought of winning a house as he follows the draws on the promotion but was surely recharging his phone on a regular assignment.
Mr. George said until when the head of market Nancy L. Joseph called to inform him that he has qualified for the dreams draw that he realized the promotion was true and real.
He said he went through the draw among ten finalists where he emerged the grand star prize winner. He paid tribute to his wife, Africell, and the general public, and said his message to them is to testify that Africell is real in all they’re doing.
His wife giving the vote of thanks said Africell has made their family proud house owners in the country.
