Mayor Herbert Williams under attack

Controversy continues to dog the life of the disgraced mayor of Freetown with the last looming for him over claims that he has to pay a resounding amount of money.

The issue of the disgraced mayor of the Freetown City Council (FCC) continues to be a matter of controversy with the latest scandal being that the suspended Mayor Herbert George Williams currently standing trial on various corruption charges, has deliberately refused to hand over assets belonging to the FCC. These assets include a white two seater Nissan patrol vehicle – a gift which was originally presented to the FCC.

The vehicle was reportedly handed over to the city father for his official use and not for his personal use. The mayor is expected to use the vehicle purely on official basis and is expected to hand it over to the FCC whenever he does not have any use for it. In other words, it is purely for official purposes and not for his personal use.

Meanwhile, tips filtering from the administrative department in the Freetown City Council have it that an official letter has been written to the suspended mayor kindly requesting him to return the said vehicle to the Council. No reply has been received by Council.
