Voter registration apathy linked to system fault

A considerable figure of 2,196,679 has so far registered in the provinces, according to the official release from the headquarters of the Sierra Leone’s National Electoral Commission.

They account for a grand total of 345 wards, 745 centres, computing 710,267 total figure for phase one, 711,052 for phase two, 662,583 for phase three over a collection rate of 100% to the total figure of 2,196,679.

The eastern province consisting Kailahun, Kenema and Kono computed a sub total of 88 wards, and 178 centres opened, and reported a sub-total figure of 464,158 for the three phases as at March 12 this year.

Bombali, Kambia, Koinadugu, Port Loko, and Tonkolili, in the Northern Province constitutency 141 wards and 295 centres were opened to surrender a sub-total figure of 728,432 as at March 12, this year.

Bo, Bonthe, Moyamba, Pujehun, in the Southern Province recorded 96 wards with 185 centres opened and accounted a sub-total figure of 140,028 as at March 12 this year. The Western Rural District has 20 wards with 29 centres opened and the Western Area Urban hosts 58 centres opening and all tallying a cumulative figure of 423,814 and a sub-total of 563,842
