Mister Idiot: President Koroma’s Ministers never cease to amaze me
Really the politicians in Sierra Leone think the word ‘development’ is when you feed the masses with loads of trays filled with cooked ‘Buma Rice’ in one political year, and you would wait until when elections are nearing to feed them once again.
This is their trap of legs. Equally, deceit has found itself a neat vocabulary to coalesce with failures in their performance contracts; so they’ve always served the masses with fake promises.
These have reared its ugly blueprints in the past few years with prezo’s doing business politicians. They should lie to impress the masses that they’re working.
One of these days his Minister said, it was now he came to realise that the people of the land are suffering that they could no longer match up the soaring prices of rice and basic commodities in the market. So he came to assure them that the prices would soon fall.
Is that good news – they clapped? How long have pricing mechanisms been promised the masses – which never materialise? How long have they waited to let the Political Jinamus to sing about the soaring prices of rice from Le60,000 to Le200,000 and above all for some brands.
Have these ministers failed to remember that they have to stop a youth led protest some time ago last year over the soaring prices of basic commodities for which the ministry of traders intervened and held promises to institute a pricing survey mechanism with the Sierra Leone Indigenous Importers Union?
Here he comes, “hip hip hip, hurray!” “My orders are that the price of rice shall henceforth come down beginning this month.” Look e mot lek nar em buy the res for the traders.
The traders are being subjected to paying plenty taxes and the soaring costs of scanning freights, demurrage, GST, Income tax and City Council dues are scolding on the profiteering throats.
In August of last year, lies came from Obai’s ministers that they have ordered for rice in neighbouring Guinea to supply the market. As we speak that rice does not see light of the day.
Besides no government has ever been a good businessman. That enterprise example is more to say the rice quota system is not going to work again in Mama Salone. The days of Ben Kanus are over! Mr. Minister, so you would have waited until all the potential voters are dead before you could come with a pricing cut-down gift to offer the people of Mama Salone. If you ask his ministers what development have they witnessed, they would reply you – go and watch through your television. Ha ha ha! It has been rumoured that these politicians have always banked on the empty stomachs of the electorates. This is why when they win they have nothing more to offer as all they are now offering is considered as purchase of vote cast.
