Christian Aid director visits Sierra Leone
The Director of International Christian Aid, Loretta Minghell is in the Sierra Leone to get a firsthand report on the successes and failures of local partner organizations on the ground.
Indisputable sources have it that Minghella’s week long visit will cover a range of issues across the country, with keen interest to development, livelihood, adult education, literacy and key health issues and equality for young people and women.
She will be visiting Bonthe District east of Sierra Leone to meet with farmers at the agricultural Business Center at Boama-Kpenge, primary school children in Gbap town and the fishing community at Mo-Albert to ascertain how the communities are tackling the challenges they face as they go about their day to day dealings.
Ms. Minghella will also meet with representatives of Christian Aid Sierra Leone whose operational areas are Tax, accountability, extractives and chiefdom governance.
Christian Aid Country Manager, Jeanne Kamara expressed the importance of the the visit of Ms. Minghella, noting however that she has had an excellent understanding of her organization’s operations in Sierra Leone, and will also enhance site visitation of projects across the Country.
