President Koroma heightens national development
President Koroma, Tuesday 31st insisted all (Sierra Leoneans) should together support development and transformation of Sierra Leone.
At the opening of a three day conference on development and transformation held at the Miata Conference Hall, Youyi Building, Freetown, President Koroma, in no doubt, communicated messages of hope to Sierra Leoneans nay urging them connect to the call for development and change.
He appraised the country of its good past, but said also that as a nation there have been too many mistakes.
He endorsed his avowed developmental strides, and noted it is his resolve to see Sierra Leone come out as a donor country, not recipient of donor funds, exporter of agricultural and industrial products not importer, and sustainer of the foreign exchange.
“Salone nar we all yone en nar we get for make am,” he said.
“All should be made to know that Sierra Leone is for all of us, and we should all come together to make it.”
Shortly after the celebration of Sierra Leone’s 50th year of independence, there was need to look at the country’s past mistakes and make amends where possible.
To this, came President Koroma’s call for a national conference on development and transformation; a visualization preempted by many as forward-looking.
In 2011, persons were nevertheless appointed by the President to serve as members at the secretariat of the Sierra Leone Conference on Development and Transformation.
It is expected that the conference will come out with recommendations that compliment references as in commissions’ and other reports on Sierra Leone.
