MP lashes Charles Mambu over Pujehun dispute
Member of Parliament for Constituency 88 in the Pujehun District, Hon. Sheka Musa Sama, has called for the immediate removal of civil society activist, Charles Mambu, as Chairman of the Conflict Resolution Committee.
He was appointed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Security to help look into the spate of land-grabbing involving a foreign company called SOCFIN Group presently occupying vast piece of grabbed land in Pujehun.
Ministry of Agriculture November 4th appointed Charles Mambu as Chairman for the committee of persons tasked to look into plight of affected farmers whose lands are is being taken from them by a foreign company.
Hon. Sama told Sierra Express Media that there is need to halt on-going operations by SOCFIN Company, more so that the committee currently investigates the conflict.
Adding however that sizeable number person resident in his constituency are currently answering to charges of riotous conduct and incitement.
He maintained that the ministry of Agriculture is not serious about the issue, noting that has submitted his findings to the Ministry of Agriculture without his consent as the elected MP of that constituency.
However, Charles Mambu who said he will respond to allegations against him through the radio failed to show up for a debate by Culture Radio between himself and the Hon. Sama.
Ministry of Agriculture officials were contacted but declined making any comment.
