Receiving the jersey on behalf of the School, Principal of the Junior Secondary School, Mr. Eddie Amara described Mr. Yankson as a hundred percent C.K.C breed, who went through the school from Form 1 to Form 6. He was a complete athlete and an academic, who combined sports and academia perfectly which makes him a role model for the upcoming pupils.
Head of the Physical Health Education Department, Councillor Michael Baio told the old Boys that, this was not the first time Mr. Yankson had donated jerseys to the school team. During the school’s Golden Jubilee, when CKC was the best in every discipline, ranging from the schools certificate exams, BECEC, WASCCE and Sports, Mr. Yankson provided a new set of Jersey which the team used in the final match of the inter-secondary schools football competition where CKC emerged as Champions. He also donated prizes for the best athlete at the school’s annual prize giving and speech day.
Speaking to SLBC after the presentation, Mr. Yankson said he is giving back to CKC what rightfully belongs to CKC, as the school made him what he is today. He was trained by good teachers and with a strong catholic background, his prayers and hard work has made a lot of difference in his life.
Meanwhile, the C.K.C football team will lock horns with Ahmaddiya Secondary Schoolat the Bo Coronations grounds in the semi-finals of the Inter-secondary Schools Football competition on Tuesday 22nd November, 2011. CKC thrashed the Bo Government Secondary School 3-0 and Bo Commercial Secondary School 2-0 to qualify to the Semi- finals of the competition. Sport analysts have tipped CKC as the favourites to win this year’s competition in the Southern Province.
