Mr. Idiot: Election date -too quick though!
When the Idiot was told that the 2012 elections date has been announced, he was left speechless.
But guess what! The Idiot’s meditation was virtually not on the announced November 17th date, but on the ‘why so soon’ question.
No disrespect to Madam Christiana Thorpe at all, for bringing to the lime light of people, baptized date for the 2012 elections. Though strange to the Idiot, it makes no qualm to him.
Anyway, was not this same Christiana Thorpe then Commissioner of National Electoral Commission (NEC) when the elections of 2007 were conducted?
The Idiot has asked because he wants the ‘election expert’ tell him why she had announced the date for the 2007 election 3/4 to the time, and the 2012 elections, 12 months to the time?
So be it Madam Thorpe. The Idiot confident that NEC’s early announcement of the date of elections – 12 months to the time – connote undoubtedly that all is set come November 17th 2012.
I am sure Commissioner Thorpe is practically wakeful of the fact that it is the prerogative of the President to hire or fire Commissioners working for NEC. That she is not an exemption however.
So, announcing the date for the coming election some 12 months ahead of time is, but no excuses that, if she does things off the beating track nobody question her.
Or is it an assurance though that the stage is all set for the soon to come elections of 2012; that in fact money once looked-for are at hand ready to be disbursed?
Please don’t discard questions asked by the Idiot. They are important and must be considered.
The fact that Commissioner Thorpe has officially informed the elitists as well as easy fool public that the 2012 Presidential and Parliamentary elections are sure to be held on November 17, suggests nevertheless that NEC has got the needed finances, had procured the needed election materials and to an extent, set aside substantial amount for the payment of persons to be contracted polling officers at election day.
That notwithstanding, is Madam Thorpe telling Sierra Leoneans that the ‘million United States dollars’ she had asked for has been sourced and in NEC’s accounts for use.
Good idea Madam Thorpe! Mr. Idiot is Ok with that. But if November 17th comes and the elections are not held, count yourself a newly enrolled Idiot.
And be sure you shall have to face gods and godess of Idiots, who for long, want you (Madam Thorpe) appear before them as a defaulter.
No Idiot, not even Mr. Idiot wants the announced election date postponed. Gone dates for elections are postponed to permit politicians hang around power; thoughtless infringing the constitution ofSierra Leone.
Madam Thorpe, if you dare break the rules, break the laws and break Mr. Idiot’s heart, he will announce your name all over, from Britain to America, Australia, Canada etc.
Don’t you dare think all Idiots are fools oh, as for Mr. Idiot; he behaves just as the influential and privileged of society.
Who says the 2012 elections should be November 17th. Was not Di Obai sworn into office in September of 2007- 2007 + 2012 = 5 years in power?
Please forgive the Idiot for saying things he has no idea to. This is exactly how Idiots are. They say things flippantly and without any check.
And Mr. Idiot being one, has vowed not keep quiet to issues of national concern, rather say them fearlessly.
Before the Idiot close though, allow him say it noisily that in the 2007 elections, Madam Thorpe first announced a date, and for some unreasonable reasons postponed the election to a further date. She did so unchallenged.
Be warned nevertheless that all may stoop down, but the Idiot will not bow for anyone, not even you, Madam Thorpe? Goodbye!
