Its activities included Capacity Building, Networking and Partnership, Advocacy and campaigning, Gender issues, Health and Sanitation, Education and Awareness raising, consultative dialogue and Forum, Counseling and Leadership training etc.

Since 2008 to date, the Youth Forum has made numerous contributions towards nation building.

In his statement, the national coordinator Youth Forum Network Sierra Leone, Mr. Edward Pratt, said that schools outreach had not been part of their work plan and commitment as a youth development organization.

He said that upon an assessment made recently, they observed that over 60% of the total populations of youths in the country are engaged in activities that practically not promoting development in the country at all.

“It is based upon this reason that we decided to visit the schools so that we can sensitize school going pupils on the following: social responsibilities, effects of teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, drug addiction, campaign against violence, the realities of HIV/AIDS, and the importance of youth participatory agriculture to enhance self sufficiency in the production of food.

Mr. Pratt emphasized that they need the support of other development partners. He said they want to do more activities but have not got any outside funding since the establishment of the organization in 2008.
