Police Patrol Team Steal Two Bags of Coal
Police officers doing night patrol at the Kissy-Black Hall Road axis have been accused of stealing two bags of coal from a suspect on the night of Monday 14th September 2009. The Police Patrol Team arrested a 17 year old, Peter Bayah, for loitering with two bags of coal; the coal serving as exhibit but was never returned even after no case was found against the said suspect. According to Peter Bayah, he was arrested at his house with two bags coal he bought for sale. He past the night in the police custody and released the following morning; with his bags of coal withheld by the police giving no reason for their action. According to the police constable who refused to identify himself, but is referred to Abu Bakrr, the suspect was arrested for loitering and his two bags of coal was taken to serve as exhibit but refused to give account for the exhibit after the boy was released for lack of evidence.
The mother of Peter Bayah explained that even after identifying the boy as her child the police just did not pay heed but scooped him away together with the coal they had bought for domestic use.
