Court rejects Aces manager’s medical request

The application for medical meeting requested by lawyer defending the Manager of Aces Night club, Abioseh Gilffin and seven others was on the 3rd rejected by Magistrate Roland Kamara of Court No7.

The application was made after lawyer representing the complainant R.A. Nylender requested for an adjournment in order to execute another line of action.

Lawyer defending the accused persons, S.S. Thomas, submitted that counsel on the other side should pay Le 500,000 cost to his clients for wasting their time.

He also applied for the court to grant the first accused person Mr. Gilffin permission for a medical appointment for one month abroad.

Lawyer for the complainant, R.A. Nylender argued that counsel of the defense should not inform the court verbally without documents to clarify that.

He accused his colleague of using the wrong method, adding that, he should have a supportive document and affidavit which he should have first served them before making the application.

He said on the next adjourned date they intend to make tremendous progress on their side.

In his ruling, Magistrate Roland Kamara said he will not consider application made by the defense lawyer because there was no proof to ascertain what was applied for.

He said in his view that the first accused person (Gilffin) was looking good rather than sick.

Matter was however adjourned to October 5th for further hearing.
