Kono shooting … Musa Tarawallie orders police
A procession of armed policemen last week opened fire at defenseless Kono youths on the orders of the Minister of Internal Affairs Musa Tarawallie.
Fact have it that Musa Tarawallie was in Kono to witness a funeral while at the same time meet with youths who desire him appointed as President Koroma’s running mate in the soon to come Presidential election.
Musa Tarawallie’s arrival in Kono routinely saw number of Kono youths coming together chanting slogans such as: “we support Musa Tarawallie our VP to be.”
To this, came the appearance of another set of youths in solidarity of Vice President Samuel Sam Samuna.
Reports are that the youths who share team spirit with Vice President approached the convoy of Musa Tarawallie and were reciting slogans to his favour when eventually Musa Tarawallie ordered his convoy of armed policemen shoot at them.
The Konos, we are told, have had division because of assertions that their brother and son of Kono Sam Samuna will surely not enjoy the pleasure of running mate to President Koroma come 2012.
Sources say Musa Tarawallie has had moments persuading APC heavy weights tell President Koroma to appoint him as his next running mate.
It is revealed nevertheless that Musa Tarawally’s visit to Kono encircled his objective of winning hearts of the Konos nay enchanting them publicly announce him as their choice of running mate.
“The dawn of the Kono shooting was practically the result of power struggle between the Vice President and the Minister of Internal Affairs,” a youth in Kono told this press.
“Make no joke at all. Musa Tarawallie is desperate and wants VP Sam Sumana booted out come 2012.”
Even though government is yet to come out with a statement, it has reached this press that Musa Tarawallie did offer money to a number of Kono youths to urge them print t-shirts and celebrate his visit in Kono.
Despite allegation that Musa Tarawallie is in double standards in the APC, it is a fact that he has been eyed as President Koroma’s unfailing choice of running mate for the 2012 elections.
It is no doubt that the APC looks for a well liked Southeasterner that will infiltrate strongholds of opposition SLPP in that part of the country.
Affirmations linking the Kono shootout reveal how Musa Tarawallie dreadfully ordered his armed bodyguards to shoot at youths opposed to him.
It was reported that the firing however frightened a good number of Kono residents and as a result left them without choice but to dash to nearby bushes for safety.
It has reached this press that the police are in a confused state; in fear of reprisal from Musa Tarawallie should they expose him or face it head on from the Vice President if the truth is not told.
It must be noted that the police are directly under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and cannot at all bring into being a report that indicts their boss- Minister Musa Tarawallie.
Unconfirmed revelations have it that there is undisclosed battle between the Vice President and the Minister of Internal Affairs.
