Yenga is at Bay

All efforts to reclaim Yenga, a disputed boarder town in the Kissy Teng Chiefdom in Kailahun district-Sierra Leone have failed. Authentic reports on our local tabloids have said Guinean troops are advancing and putting more territory under their control. Other sources have also disclosed that some Sierra Leoneans pay tax and loyalty to the Guineans authorities.

Salone Pilgrims Arrived Safely

497 Pilgrims who left the shores of Sierra Leone have arrived safely in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj. The pilgrims jet in with Royal Air Maroc Flight at 1800 at 12 midday Saudian time on Thursday. A red carpet welcome by both Sierra Leoneans National’s resident and the Sierra Leone students union in Madina headed by its president, Sheik Ibrahim Bah, Dr. Ahmad Ramadan Jalloh among others was given to them.

HIV/AIDS Spread is on the decrease

The minister of information and communication Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo has cautioned journalists and other stakeholder that the fight against HIV/AIDS is a collective responsibility. He warned that though the high rate of HIV/AID is gradually reducing, it is incumbent on every Sierra Leoneans to see that the battle against this disease is won. He also hastened to remind journalists and stakeholders that government and the private sector cannot do the fight alone.

APC Invites SLPP And PMDC To London

H.E President Ernest Bai Koroma has incorporated members of opposition SLPP and PMDC in a consultative meeting with investors from all over the world in London next work. The president intimated that similar meeting of this nature was held in 2005 under the auspices of Solomon E. Berewa; and in that conference pledges worth US$800 million was donated for the poverty Reduction Strategy paper (PRSP). He assured Sierra Leoneans that this time round he would ensure that the money given meet its required purpose, he promised.

5 Jetty Construction Project Under Way

The Executive Director of Sierra Leone Maritime Administration Mr. Philip S.J. Lukulay in collaboration with representatives from the Strategic and Policy Unit in the Office of the President has on last week Tuesday signed a contract for the construction of five jetties for five coastal areas with a group of contractors. The construction project is worth about 1.2 million Dollars.
