Running mate Musa Tarawallie, J.B Dauda battle!

Revelations have it unconcealed that three heavyweights of the ruling All People’s Congress (APC) are battling for running mate to President Koroma in the soon to come 2012 elections.

Musa Tarawallie (Minister of Local Government) and J B Dauda (Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations) have had restive moments knocking doors of party supporters, top executive members, and most unfortunately, unlawful residents at the APC party headquarter offices, to allure them join either of the two as they lobby for running mate to President Koroma in the 2012 Presidential contest.

Unconfirmed information states that the Minister of Local Government, Musa Tarawallie, was at the APC party head office at Old Railway last week where he presented Ramadan gestures of bags of rice, a grown up cow and millions of Leones to party stalwarts.

It is also disclosed that the appointment of J B Dauda as APC Foreign Affairs Minister came owing to the fact that he has Southeastern support and can best be appointed as running mate to President Koroma in the next elections.

Be it known though that J B Dauda was a strong member of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and served under President Kabbah as his Minister of Finance.

He was among persons that contested for leadership of the SLPP in 2006, but lost to Solomon Berewa, then Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

He was disrobed as the Finance Minister soon after the contest and was left to wander about as ordinary SLPP member.

Just about President Koroma’s three years in governance, J B Dauda was unexpectedly appointed as Minster of Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

His appointment was seen by the membership of the SLPP party as demoralizing and uncalled for.

It was in disagreement with the expectations of members of the SLPP, who for a number of reasons, consider the ministerial appointment of J B Dauda as unfriendly and undemocratic.

Inside APC sources have disclosed nevertheless that the current APC Vice President, Alhaji Samuel Sam Samuna, is uncertain over his re-appointment as President Koroma’s running mate in 2012.

That the sequential appointment of a number of Southeasterners as Ministers and Deputy Ministers in the cabinet of the ruling APC, is a signal that President Koroma’s next running mate will unquestionably come from that part of the country.

It could be recalled that Musa Tarawallie and J B Dauda have both been the attention of public’s assertions regarding who President Koroma’s second running mate will be.

An APC source has told this press that either of the two, J B Dauda or Musa Tarawallie will be appointed running mate to President Koroma.

That, the current Vice President, who by all indications should have gone for his second term, is likely to be shown the exit door due to assertions that he is an underperformer.

  • Mr.Ibrahim Samura, You are cordially invited to join the APC party free of charge just for you to stop making your unconfirmed reports and false news about the APC hierachy. Do you realise that Ngor J.B. was also a strong man in the APC Party during the Stevens and Momoh era or clearly the 80’s. so serving this great APC party at this point in time is like going back to HIS fruitful roots. Remember, he has served these two parties-SLpp and APC as Senior minister and as a VP during their reigns in Sierra leone he knows the party that is moving to the right direction. He is an intelligent man and a good player in modern politics, not the regional politics you preach around the shores of Sierra Leone of being a Southerner or Easterner. He is just serving his country Sierra Leone as a true born Sierra Leonean-period. if the lot of you thinks it is uncalled for then count his blessing stars and challenge him. Rumour mongering about the APC second in command makes no heck on us. APC WILL ALWAYS REIGN SUPREME.
