Africell’s big promo for Ramadan

Sierra Leone’s biggest and fastest mobile communication company Africell, Wednesday 3rd launched two promotions for the month of Ramadan – ‘Money Na Wi domot’ and ‘Gentry Na wi domot.’

Speaking to a cross section of journalists, Abdul Aziz Gabisi, Africell’s Administrative Director said that his company recognizes and respects respective faith systems in this country.

He said that in line with religious values his company therefore appreciates the Holy month of Ramadan as one of the pillars of Islam and joins all Muslims in the observance of the dictates and expectations of the Holy month which started past Monday.

He noted however that Africell is aware that in the 29 to 30 days of Ramadan, Muslims are obligated to fasting, praying and the recitation of the Holy Quran.

He said the two promotions are aimed at taking winnings to the door steps of Africell’s customers who are being rewarded for their loyalty, commitment and dedication.

He further said that the ‘money na wi domot’ promotion takes cash to the provinces while ‘Gentry na wi domot’ takes winning in the form of electronic equipments and food items to doorsteps of winners.

Giving a detailed description of the promotion and other value added services, Africell’s Head of Events and Sponsorship, Arthur B. Kallon said subscribers who wish to subscribe to the 99 names or virtues of Allah and their meaning should dial or send blank SMS to 7330 and will automatically receive three names of Allah with their meanings daily for 33 days, it will cost 3 units per day.

He said a subscriber who wants to subscribe for the prayer (Du’A) of the day should call or send blank SMS to 7122  cost 1 unit per SMS, and for prayer time reminder send blank SMS to 7120 this service cost 10 units a day.

He said that for the Holy Quran recitation, subscribers can dial 7100 and follow the voice prompts, enter the number of the Surah (1 to 114) followed by the # key this service cost 10 units per minute. Subscribers who want to benefit from these packages need to recharge two hundred and fifty (250) units within the week.

He further noted that another aspect of Africell’s goodwill to the people of Sierra Leone and their subscribers is the Africell Ramadan IFTAR which involves the provision of food and drinks for needy Muslims in mosques and communities throughout the country.

He said a subscriber who wants to take part in the Gentri Na Wi dormot should recharge at least one hundred (100) units.
