Man sent to prison for stealing NPA cables
James Bockarie Kargbo Monday, reached the well of Magistrate Court II on a count charge of larceny contrary to section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
In the particulars of offence, the accused Saturday 16th July 2011 at Mile 13 along Peninsular Road in Goderich, York Rural District, stole three by one twenty millimeter square eleven KV (3 by 120 mm2 11KV) with a length of three and half meter National Power Authority under ground copper cable.
After his charges, the presiding officer, Magistrate Wellington, ignored application of bail by the defence.
In his ruling, Magistrate Wellington referred to the charge as very serious. He asked for the accused to be remanded in custody and later adjourned the matter for further hearing.
