Lecce takes Strasser on loan
Rodney Strasser has completed a loan move to Serie A side Lecce. The AC Milan youngster Rodney Strasser was officially unveiled by his new side with a Lecce colours display in their website.
A statement on Milan’s official site confirmed the move: “A.C. Milan announces that it has sold, on a temporary basis, Rodney Strasser to US Lecce.”
“We are happy for such a young player to add to our squad,” Lecce Sporting director Carlo Osti admitted on Tuesday. “The player is of interest to us. Now we can work with him in pre-season.”
The Southern side have confirmed Strasser’s arrival after Milan and the player agreed to the Stadio Via Del Mare switch.
The 21-year-old, from Sierra Leone, is a promising midfielder who has only played in five Seria A games during his career. Strasser will now join up with his new teammates at their pre-season training camp at Tarvisio.
Strasser has played five Serie A games for the Rossseneri, scoring one goal in last season’s win at Cagliari.
However, Milan has no interest in losing the player and according to IL Corriere dello Sport, Strasser, who has trained in the last days with the first team, prolonged his contract with the Rossseneri until 2015.
