Outlaw copper sales to save NPA cables!

All over the historic city of Freetown one can now see little boys and young adults going all over the place looking for copper which they sell to agents at various locations.

The Searching Man has been informed that it is very good business with a kilo of the metal going for between twenty to twenty five thousands Leones.

Naturally the man with the powerful beam would not have raised concern if it were not for the fact that the copper business has affected the National Power Authority (NPA) in a very bad way, in that the Copper Boys cut the overhead cables and they even dig up the underground cables which now seem to be the main sources of copper for them.

As far as the man with the beam is concerned the only solution to such rebel activity is for Government to out rightly outlaw the copper business in this country, meaning to say that anybody who engages in this kind of business is automatically a criminal, otherwise one fine day the people of this country will wake up and discover that all the electricity cables have been removed and no more shall they receive current in their homes and work places.

Okada boys report Police Officer Samuka

The Searching Man got very angry as he listened to some commercial motor bike riders, known as Okada Boys, lamenting on the harassment they face daily from unscrupulous Traffic Police Officers. They were recounting their ordeals during the Nightline programme over the SLBC on the night of Friday, July 15 this year.

At one point in their narration the man with the beam got so emotional that he actually shed some tears at the height of the harassment that one Police Officer by the name of Samuka was alleged to have reached.

One Okada rider called and alleged that Police Officer Samuka asks him and a few of his colleagues to pay to him the sum of two hundred and fifty thousand Leones (Le 250,0000) monthly, failing which he will arrest them and charge them to Court.

The poor fellow even stated that he is aware that other Police Officers are also doing the same thing like Samuka.

Folks, can you really imagine the negative implications of such an ungodly practice? Don’t you then not start to understand why the Okada Boys are always driving at breakneck speeds and causing so many accidents all over the place? Well if you must know they have to pay Master’s money, Samuka’s money and other Police Officers, money and take home something. So they have to be in such constant rush to make the money and keep their jobs.

Well, the force for good really does have very rotten and stinking apples that actually need to not only be plucked but be put into confinement so that they will not infest the very ground on which they tread.

Mr. Francis Munu, are you taking note sir?
