Medical Director arraigned before High Court
The former Medical Director at the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, Christian Borbor Max-Kanga and his wife are due to appear in the High Court for trial.
The accused were before Magistrate Willington of Court No2 to answer to nine count charges of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence contrary to section 24 of the larceny act of 1816.
The prosecution led by police Sergeant 1933 Jay M.A alleged that on diverse date in March of 2011 the accused Christian Borbor and wife obtained a huge amount of money from Honourable Veronica Kadie Sesay with the pretext that they had a land for sale at Sheriff Drive Lumley knowing same to be false. Giving his ruling, Magistrate Wellington stated that the accused persons were before him on nine count charges of conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretences.
He said the prosecution called four witnesses including the complainant, who serves as the factual witness.
He furthered that after the prosecution closes their case, he found that there are sufficient evidence to prove the complainant’s case and as such decided to commit the case to the high court for proper trial.
