The Royal Becklyn Academy, Wilkinson Road was on Monday 12th July 2011, given the opportunity to tour the working environment of Airtel Sierra Leone. This event gave an interesting and informative career exploration experience to the young minds that visited the company.

The Company’s Corporate Affairs and Communications Manager, June-Rose Johnson, in her introduction explained work methods, communication, team work and employability skills.

The pupils and their teachers were taken to all departments in the company’s headquarters and each working group helped the pupils understand the skills needed to do each job within the company. This guided event of the company gave the students an opportunity to learn more about industries, occupations and careers available within the telecommunication company.

‘We accepted your request to tour our company at this time especially because we want to provide insight to educators and students about the education and work skills needed in an industry and we believe that this will give the students an inside look at an industry, and stress the importance of taking appropriate classes for success in different occupations.’ RVS Bhullar disclosed to the attentive pupils and their teachers who ended their tour in his office.

Pleased as they were, the students were so thankful to the MD and his staff for the opportunity given them.
