Councilors want mayor impeached
Flawless sources at the Freetown City Council (FCC) have confirmed to this press that Councilors want the Mayor of Freetown impeached unrestrained.
A source who asked for his name not to be disclosed, prayed to have Mayor George Herbert Williams (in photo) removed from office come Monday coming, or the FCC will unfailingly fall.
It was told however that money meant for public use is put into the pockets of individuals thus hampering efforts of a number of Councilors wanting to take developmental projects to their respective communities.
“Some of us are troubled to visit our wards or even meet the people that voted us into office. It is so because we’ve got nothing to tell them. We are disgusted with the Mayor of Freetown and therefore want him sacked and investigated by the Anti Corruption,” aggrieved Councilors fumed.
The furiously enraged councilors disclosed conspiratorial activities of the Mayor and his Chief Administrative officer.
They revealed how the Mayor and his Chief Administrative officer have engaged in the masterminding of unholy plots to siphon monies in funds of the FCC and put same into private pockets.
It was further revealed that the Head of Revenue, Mrs. Ojo, is to account for 47 booklets of licenses totaling a whopping Le 470 million.
Confirmations have it that the Freetown City Council currently owes a deficit of Le 7 billion for which no proper accounts have been submitted. Disclosures from Councilors indicate that the ineptitude gripping management of FCC came as a result of indiscriminate sale of licenses and the siphoning of proceeds into personal coffers.
The printing of tax and license receipts contract was said to have been unduly awarded to one Ramatu Kamara the grand-daughter of former APC strong man, late SAT Koroma.
Contemplations of personnel of the FCC point towards the secret and unwholesome conducts of persons assigned to the printing and distribution of receipts.
Eyebrows are now being raised at the Mayor, whom we are told, eventfully facilitates trips to Israel and other countries to explore personal ventures at the expense of public funds.
An insider has told this press that ‘what goes around comes around,’ as this was how the Mayor spearheaded the ousting of his predecessor former Mayor Winstanley Bankole Johnson.
