As NPA goes erratic…. President Koroma shivers

Reports monitored indicate that President Koroma is unhappy over the current predicament faced by the National Power Authority (NPA) in the supply of power to residents of Freetown.

It is glaring though that residents of Freetown have had restless moments complaining of cutbacks in the supply of light at homes of especially the modest.

Months after President Koroma’s over of governance, he was in the well of Parliament to address Parliamentary representatives on issues of national concerns.  In the midst of desperately needed issues, the President assured all that Freetown will never be called the darkest city in the world.

“Freetown will never again be tagged as the darkest in the world,” the President said.

Assumptions of city residents point towards revelation recently put out by the General Manager of NPA, Dr. Zubairu Kalakoh, that the much talked about Bumbuna hydro virtually plays no good role to issues of electricity supply at all.

Sources say President Koroma is angry over spectacular disclosures of underperformance of the already politicized Bumbuna hydro.

Recent mudslinging between management of Bumbuna hydro and NPA has undoubtedly awakened minds of ordinary Sierra Leoneans that revelations of one of Sierra Leone’s musical ambassadors, Emerson Bockarie, that Bumbuna does not exist is indeed real.

Be it known that the President, time and again, has assured countrymen that in 2017 or so, Sierra Leone will boast of electricity at all fronts nationwide.

Wellington, Calaba town, Kissy, Allen town, and other towns within and on the outskirts of Freetown have been deprived of electricity for months without any justification from management of NPA.

Some are spotted as saying the NPA is a total mess. Others also say that government’s inclusion of the Bumbuna hydro has caused wasteful spending of billions by NPA.

Interviews conducted indicate that the NPA, Bumbuna hydro and the ruling APC have deceived Sierra Leoneans due to woeful promises.
