Ambassador Kuang Visits Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation
On June 10, Chinese Ambassador Kuang Weilin paid a visit to Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC). Ambassador Kuang praised SLBC for its leading role in the media of Sierra Leone and believed that the company will make further progress in providing not only information but also educational and entertainment services to Sierra Leonean people. He emphasized that radio and television are important media to promote exchanges of information and culture and that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Sierra Leone in this field.

Dr. Hallowell thanked the Ambassador for his visit and briefed him on SLBC. He said that remarkable progress has been made since the reorganization of the SLBC one year before, but admitted that the company still faces daunting challenges such as lack of equipment and professional training. He expressed gratitude for the support and assistance that China has provided to SLBC over the years, and looked forward to further promoting exchanges and cooperation with China in broadcasting and television.
