Anti-violence movement visits Government Model School
The National President for Anti Violence Movement S/L, Imran B. Koroma Monday 6th was at Government Model Secondary School to admonish pupils on issues of violence.
In his statement, he acknowledged the presence of teachers and pupils of the school.
He commended the Anti Violence Movement for its relentless strides in sensitizing school going pupils on issues of violence.
The President stated among other things that violence discourages good investors.
That as the President of the Anti Violence Movement he is calling all to refrain from violence and preach peace.
He furthered that pupils should ignore violence at schools, but concentrate on their school work so that they can be responsible people in the future.
“School children we should learn to respect our teachers,” he said.
Outreach officer, Adu Jusu, in his path said pupils should learn to follow rules and regulations set aside by schools, especially those addressing dress code.
He said to any right there is a corresponding responsibility, and that the youths should not miss use such a right.
Amadu Wurie Barrie, who doubles as Vice President, admonished pupils to refrain from inculcating the attitude of ‘violence for fame,’ but ‘peace for all.’
The Public Relations Officer Anti Violence Movement, Dauda Koroma said if violence is nursed at schools it is sure to extend to the Universities/Tertiary institutions and then to public life in general.
“This,” he said, “is the reason why the Anti Violence Movement Sierra Leone tours schools in the Western Area to preach to pupils the effect of violence.”
“After touring the Western Area we intend reaching out school at the provinces also.”
