SLPP chairman dragged to court

Alfred Chambers, who doubles as the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Chairman, West District, is in court on allegation of malicious damage and trespass to property.

It is reported that some months ago, an All Peoples Congress (APC) politician, Ambassador Dauda Tombo Bangura (in photo), complained to the police at Adonkia village that Alfred Chambers maliciously damaged and trespassed on a land that belonged to him.

Police sources say that after investigation the SLPP West District Chairman who was found culpable of trespass and damage of the property of Ambassador Dauda Tombo Bangura was charged with two counts and arraigned before Magistrate Roland Kamara of Court No. 7.

In the report of the Director of Surveys and Lands, Dr. William L. Farmer, it is stated that Ambassador Dauda Tombo Bangura (complainant) is the rightful owner of land LS479/96, which is positioned within the Freetown Colony grids.

The said land is reportedly located at Off Main Motor Road, Juba Hill, in the West end of Freetown.

The accused was however granted bail by Magistrate Roland Kamara after fulfillment of bail conditions.

Hearing continues at court 7.
