Usman Boie blasts APC ‘stop the dreadful politics’
Presidential aspirant of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Usman Boie Kamara yesterday blasted the ruling APC for overindulging into its old aged “dreadful” political games.
“Stop the dreadful politics APC,” Usman Boie blasts. “How for goodness sake would stooges disguising as writers of the APC We Yone Newspaper symbol me as inciting youths to go against government.
The SLPP big man however frowned at what he calls ‘reckless journalism’ and said that the ‘We Yone’ publication of a story that is uselessly libellous of him, is seemingly a strategy by core members of the ruling APC to bring his reputation down.
It could be recalled that the We Yone Newspaper recently published a story in which it alleges that Usman Boie has been machinating action of the National Youth Commission (NYC) into having them impose 21 days ultimatum on the government for the recent change from the imperial to metric measurement of fuel oil.
“I am an unsoiled and spotless politician,” Usman Boie said, “Accusing me of having hands to any dissent by members of the NYC seems baseless, unfounded and jittery of a party which boasts it has brought perfection to the lives of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.”
He stressfully told this press that recent amplification of prices of petroleum products has left Sierra Leoneans with no option, but outright disapproval.
It is a fact that Sierra Leoneans have had painful days purchasing petrol at a much higher cost owing to current price increases.
The APC ‘We Yone’ publication of Monday 23, with banner headline: “Did SLPP Presidential Aspirant Influence NYC Strike Action,” has been damned by a reasonable number of persons, who in a straight line suffer hardship owing to the recent fuel hike.
“The Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Presidential flagbearer aspirant, Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara, did make overtures to certain officials of the National Youth Coalition to influence the strike ultimatum given the All People Congress (APC) Government.”
By the above quote, it is clear though that the ‘We Yone’ Newspaper directly accused the forenamed SLPP politician of making advances to members of the NYC to influence them stage protest against the ruling APC on grounds depicting recent fuel increase.
Random public findings indicate that the APC is slowly returning to its old age political tricks.
It is told that the APC targets Usman Boie because they see him as strong challenger in the race for the Presidency come 2012.
“The publication of a story by the ‘We Yone’ Newspaper, in which it was stated that Usman Boie sent emissaries to the National Youth Coalition to convince them to take advantage of the inconveniences caused by government in the transformation from imperial to metric measurement and stage protest, is baseless and unfounded,” a group of SLPP supporters fumed.
