Estate Agent cries foul over commission
Jusu Jajua Konneh, an Estate Agent has accused a Vendor Hassan Nazzal of refusing to pay his 3% commission as agent for facilitating the sale of a house at No. 38 Sani Abacha Street in Freetown.
Konneh said they both mutually agreed that he would receive 3% commission after assisting the Vendor in finding a purchaser to buy the house in question.
According to the agent, the vendor charged $1.2 m, an amount that was later reduced to one million dollars as it was difficult at the time to get a buyer at that initial price.
Konneh furthered that the actual owner of the house was one Mrs. Dora Nina Fashu Collier who needed only $380,000 for the house in 2009. He stated that his clients Alhaji Idrissa Jalloh and Sulaiman Jalloh bought the house for $485,000. But that after deducting the actual cost of the house, a balance of $105,000 was secretly paid into the vendor’s bank account without paying his 3% commission as agreed.
A third person in the name of Alhaji Leigh was accepted into the transaction purporting to be the actual agent with the connivance of Hassan Nazzal the vendor who refused to honour his part of the agreement.
According to Konneh, the vendor is even aided and abetted by Lawyer Alpha Fornah who he said boasts of political connection.
Jusu Konneh the actual agent said he has already taken the matter to his lawyer and a letter has been written to the vendor to pay his commission, but up till now he has not responded to the Lawyer’s demand.
