Gibriel “Songo” Train “Meals 4 Schools Campaign” Warned Members To Drop The Negative Attitude, Support The Campaign And Move On

As the Director of Operations for the “Schools 4 Meals Campaign”, I must first of all commend these Washington DC finest (Mrs. Abie Daramy, Mrs. Fatmata Pettiquio and Gibriel “Songo Train” Sesay), who sacrifice their time and money to sell their vision and to what they stood for  in our Mama Salone during the month of April 2011.

Gibriel Songo Train

As Sierra Leone celebrates her 50th Independence Anniversary, I was fortunate to telephone one of our able members of the executive Mr. Gibriel “Songo Train” Sesay (Assistant Publicity Secretary) in Freetown. In retrospect, it’s interesting to note how we sometimes become so inundated with such events in our lives that we allow some enemies of progress to become part of our lives. Instead of enjoying and nurturing the life we have, we fall prey to the fears and stresses that occur as a result of negative experiences with others around us.

In Mama Salone, the 50th Independence Anniversary was at its best and finest. Thank you Hon. Logus Koroma, for accepting this colossal task.  Hon. Logus Koroma is a man of valor and he took office when President Koroma needed direction and visionary leadership for this 50th Anniversary.  He singlehandedly took the task by taking the driver’s seat which leads towards the complete success of this memorable occasion. God will provide you Paradise – thank you.

One thing that really sent a cool message down to me was that, when Gribriel Songo Train said; “Comrades, such type of events do not destroy and alter lives unless we allow them. On the contrarily, it is easier to plan an attack which involve a battle to protect our quality of life than it is to simply enjoy the quality of life we fought so hard to obtain. The battles we fight and the wars we wage, while protecting our lives, actually deteriorate the life we have. Let’s cut the baloney and help our future leaders to better Mama Salone” Sogo Train concluded.

As I became convinced by his message, our able Asst. Publicity Secretary had also warned other members who are the enemies of progress. Mr. Gibriel Songo Train continues to say that; “these unpatriotic citizens we met along the way here are capable of setting negative priorities which can also adjust the level of intrusive negativity in our lives and our future leaders. While at the same time, they place their negative events at a lower level while tending to them unemotionally. Let’s determine what’s important to supporting and enhancing our life as opposed to what can tear it apart. Let’s also try to examine how we can move forward and not what’s following behind us. The Meals 4 Schools Campaign is here to stay and we need to support its campaign.”

Our Asst. Publicity Secretary of the Meals 4 Schools Campaign, Mr. Gibriel “Songo Train” was very confident in the way this campaign was launched. While this all sounds like the easy way out, these hungry children were very fascinated and happy. It is a decision that we must make as to whether or not a person or a situation is of any consequence in your life is worth the taking. Essentially, does it really matter when it comes to this? Can we continue the focus on our life while resolving the issue or is it really important enough to wage a battle? I don’t think so!

Ms. Fatmata Pettiquoi

Going back to my able Assistant Publicity Sec, General’s message, many people find it necessary for us to continue the battles of progress which we are now achieving because the Meals 4 Schools Campaign Project  need to prove a point to the enemies of progress who are working very hard to prevent this campaign from holding grounds in Mama Salone. Painstakingly, I don’t have any objection, it is noble to do so, but is it a not the lesson like this malice we learn that allows us to succeed. The enemies of progress will indeed learn their own lessons as time progresses, but are you the maverick placed on this earth to fix their issues and remove their lessons? In doing so if you’re the one, you are neglecting your own life and depleting the quality that we all worked so hard to obtain.

Conclusively, to evaluate what is important to nurturing the life we all want for our future leaders (children), we need to work very hard to feed these kids. Don’t try to find those things that can destroy it, because it is guaranteed that you will find them, and they will find you. By wasting so much time dealing with the negatives and failing to move our lives forward to our desires, God is always ready and willing to direct us. Align your life in the direction you desire, drop the negatives, and begin moving forward. Soon enough, you’ll be moving too fast for anything negative to catch you!
