SLPP lacks governance value

It is fitting that the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) lacks moral grounds on governance.

Be it known that Sierra Leoneans, all the way, voted the ‘All Peoples Congress’ party (APC) into governance on the grounds consequently exposing SLPP’s wretched governance arrangements.

It is a fact that the SLPP whilst in governance ignored concerns of the electorates – to wit, electricity supply, good roads and free health care.

Little wonder though that in just three months of governance, the APC was responsibly able to bring to doorsteps of Sierra Leoneans twenty four (24) hours constant supply of light.

The SLPP, tagged ‘party in opposition,’ is believed to have unwittingly deviated from its responsibility (making meaningful contribution to national development) to that of issues explaining extreme triviality.

It is a fact that Sierra Leoneans at home and abroad know that the SLPP is in court over alleged violation of laws in its constitution.

That persons aspiring for leadership of the party have had time using invectives at each other, instead of advertising their political intentions to the electorates.

“The APC has failed. It lacks governance know how and has brought untold hardship to society.”

The above quote formed part of the series of castigating words jingled by the SLPP.

It is no secret at all that the SLPP is in complete shambles; soon to be torn.

As the high court grapples over complaints against the SLPP, persons competing for the party’s Presidential leadership keep hurling slings at each other.

Make no fool of yourself; politicians of old have manipulated things to the favour of two political parties – APC and SLPP.

No room for a third force at all. And in the event where a third political party emerges, it is forced into an alliance by either the APC or SLPP, or made to pass away in quiet resolve.

To some Sierra Leoneans, it is off-putting having a multi party system of government that operates as if it is a one party system.

The poor performance of the SLPP while in opposition apparently sends a reminder to tacticians of the APC in the presumed transformation of Sierra Leone’s multi party democratic practices to that of an unimaginable one party system.

Trust, the APC is capably able to stage-manage the come back of the one party system should opposition parties proved worthless.

No doubt civil society and youth organizations complained over recent increase in prices of petroleum products by oil marketers.

It is presumed that the SLPP should first find solutions to its internal problems settle complaints at the high court and then initiate offers that importantly support national development.

Or else, society will have no option, but repeatedly to vote the APC as their only and just alternative.

  • The writer of this is totally biased and lacks the sense of objectivity to express his thoughts on issues of governance when it comes to politicking.

If one should talk about any party lacking governance values, then writer needs to go back to his archives to dig out the things that the past government, the SLPP, did while in the driving seat of state governance especially in a country that was wrecked by ten years of brutal war resulting from the administration/governance of the APC.

It is a shame that this writer is shying away from the truth and realities of the governance of Salone. If you did not know, please learn now that if there is any party/government that lacks moral values in this country, it is your APC. The truth shall always come out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How sweet it is! when you are in the driver’s seat with only 54% of the popular votes while 477 polling stations in the East were thrown out by the witch Dr. Chritiana Thorpe; you can say anything without thinking.
Even the Supreme court’s ruling from Dr Bu-Buakei Jabbi’s petition in this regard is play book to the APC where there is no line between the three branches of Government.
Let’s wait and see how things will turn out within the next 11 months.
