Mr. John Oponjo Benjamin, National Chairman and Leader of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party is on a three day visit to Kailahun District which has commenced today April 7th 2011. A massive crowd of enthusiastic supporters and members of the SLPP welcomed Mr. Benjamin’s entourage at a distance of two miles from Kailahun Town following which the crowd jogged and sang alongside the convoy songs of praises and solidarity for the SLPP and its Leader.
After the slowly meandering vehicular convoy reached a half mile distance out of the township at exactly 13:30hours GMT, it took one hour for the Benjamin convoy to drive slowly through the ever-increasing, mammoth, unprecedented crowd of Kailahun residents whom were all singing the popular refrain of JOB! JOB!! JOB!!!
Some of the banners hoisted had very interesting words including:
Lie-Lie Four Lane Road; True-True Eight Lane Corruption; True-True Sixteen Lane Hardship
Accompanying Mr. John Benjamin into Kailahun today were some of the SLPP Flagbearer Aspirants whom were all hailed by the people of Kailahun.
John Benjamin is expected to spend the night today inside Buedu after he would have formally presented Sahr Fatoma, the SLPP Candidate for the upcoming Parliamentary Elections to be held next month to replace the former SLPP Parliamentarian, Hon. Tamba Borbor Sawyerr in Constituency 04.
