City Mayor in ACC net
It has reached desks of Sierra Express Media that musicians have voluntarily made statements to the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) exposing Mayor Herbert Williams’ corruption attachment.
Twenty Sierra Leonean musicians in 2010, performed at the Morgan Heritage musical concert.
It was understood that the artists were to be paid the sum of Le 3 million each.
This press affirmatively gathered from the artists that management of City Council disappointingly called them to a meeting and later submitted a pittance of Le 300,000 to each of them, instead of the proposed Le 3 million as bargained.
It is disclosed that the ACC has stepped up investigation to critically look into the conduct of City Council officials on how finances for the December 2010 Morgan Heritage musical concert were used.
Investigators at the ACC, we are told, have had statements of confessions from some of the artists, who confirmed receiving the pittance of Le 300,000 as payment made to them by Mayor Herbert and team.
ACC sources indicate that Mayor Herbert, in his statement to ACC investigators, lied about paying the sum of Le 3 million to each artist that performed at the Morgan Heritage musical concert.
It could be recalled that Sierra Leoneans have had busy time questioning the conduct of Management of City Council on issues relating to monies spent for the concert.

Unconfirmed information points towards the City Mayor’s woeful slicing of Le 2.7 million from the sum of Le 3 million set aside for the payment of performing artists.
Sources articulate that monies allegedly spent for the Morgan Heritage musical concert went into pockets of unscrupulous City Council officials.
An artist who spoke to this press, but asked for his name not to be mentioned said, Mayor Herbert went as far as telling them to cheerfully receive the Le300,000 and not grumble… adding: “This is national service, you need not be paid for it,” words of Mayor Herbert as told to this press.
