Justice Semega Janneh Commission Inquiry to recommence tomorrow
The public is hereby informed that the Justice Semega Janneh Commission of Inquiry will recommence sittings on Tuesday 22nd March 2011 at the Miatta Conference Hall Centre, Freetown.
As you may be aware, the Commission’s terms of reference amongst others included:
- Inquiry into any irregularities and malpractices in the expenditure of government and donor funds.
- Whether or not any malpractices or irregularities were committed by any person with respect to these funds.
- The nature and extent of the malpractices and irregularities and;
- The sums of money and identities of persons involved in such malpractice and irregularities and to make appropriate recommendations.
Before the Commission went on recess, investigations were being conducted on the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport, particularly the Sababu Education Project and Petroleum Unit, Institutions from which the Commission received maximum cooperation.
