Whoop – Editor backs out SLAJ contest – No!

It has reached Sierra Express Media that the Editor of Concord Times newspaper, whose name is on the list of persons competing for national secretary generalship of SLAJ, is losing ground owing to rumors of his withdrawal.

Moses Kargbo, who until last week, made headlines of discussion on issues of SLAJs up and coming biennial gathering, which will also observe the election of national and regional executives come 25th March in Kenema Town.

The forenamed newspaper Editor has gone through the process of nomination and was shortlisted as aspirant to contest alongside the acting national secretary general, Ishmael Koroma.

Be it told that SLAJ biennial meeting is slated for 25th March and will be held in Kenema.

The meeting will affirm the association’s constitutional compels for the election of it executives every two years.

Though unconfirmed, Editor Moses has told this press that gossips of his withdrawal from the secretary general contest is unofficial, but would be confirmed by today.

Editor Moses refused making any comment on whether he has the intention to withdraw his candidature; giving a smooth ride to his contender Ishmael Koroma come the day of voting.

“Well, my withdrawal is yet unofficial,” Moses said.

“By Friday this week, I will unfailingly make my intention known. Of course, people have asked me to withdraw from the race.”

It is a fact that unscrupulous SLAJ members aided by some undesirable executive members, who feel they are more SLAJ than others, seemed fighting tooth and nail to continue to hold positions in the executive though are under-performers.

Facts have it that the candidacy of Editor Moses may terribly undermine the ‘wished for’ and ‘hoped for’ positive SLAJ’s biennial gathering.
