Police officer in mischief
It is believed that the advent of what is seemingly the Complaint, Discipline, Internal Investigation Department (CDIID) was meant to halt woeful actions and conducts of police officers.
The truth manifests itself this past Friday when police sergeant 4732 Kargbo, who is attached to Shell Police Post Kissy, in broad day light, took off his police shirt, calling for a fight with a man supposed to be a complainant in a matter under investigation.
Our reporter was at the scene and here is what she says: “Thursday 10th March was an important day for the traders. In light of this, I was left with no option, but dashed to Kissy Shell community to basically observe how the mood of traders looks like.”
“The urge to get news from the police overcame my thoughts and I was quick to reach Kissy Shell Police Post. At the post, Abdul Turay, a complainant in matter under investigation was observed in the exchange of words with Sgt Kargbo.”
“To my surprise” our reporter said, “the police sergeant shamelessly took off his uniform shirt and was calling for a fight, while at the same time lavishing invectives publicly.”
Our reporter went further to say that sergeant Kargbo bragged not having any shilly-shallying for the CDIID.
“If u lek take mi to CDIID, den nor get natin for do to mi,” Sergeant Kargbo said.
Citations, as mentioned above, explained how some police officers conduct themselves in public.
The Sierra Leone Police, it is believed, operate to independently serve Sierra Leoneans.
The police should be virtually seen as acting as a ‘black sheep’ in the family and not ‘anti’ to society.
Enquiries as to the sergeant’s previous character reveal that on number of occasions he has been overindulging into the delay of investigation on complaint made by the public.
Though unconfirmed, it is a fact that sergeant Kargbo publicly misbehaved.
Without prejudice and discrimination, residents of Ferry Junction have asked that the CDIID institute investigation on the conduct of the police sergeant.
