Richard UKU appointed as Head of External Relations and Communication of the African Development Bank
Eloïne BARRY, African Press Organization’s Executive Director (www.apo-opa.org), welcomed today the appointment of Richard UKU as Head of External Relations and Communication at the African Development Bank (www.afdb.org).
“I am delighted to learn of the appointment of Mr UKU,” said Barry, on learning of Mr. Uku’s appointment. “Considering his previous experience, this is an excellent choice. I would like to wish him every success in his future endeavors at the AfDB. Mr UKU will have the full support of the African Press Organization.”
Richard UKU has been Group Head, Brand & Communication at Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), and Head of Communications at the Africa Finance Corporation. He was previously Speechwriter to the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund and Head of Communications for the World Bank’s Africa Region. He also worked for the international public relations firm Burson-Marsteller as Vice President, Government & Emerging Markets.
