London Mission lines up activities for Jubilee anniversary

Between now and the end of April this year, a number of activities have been lined up to commemorate and celebrate Sierra Leone’s 50th Jubilee Anniversary.

Having launched the Jubilee programme in London two weeks ago, the next item on the agenda is the Grand Luncheon Sale scheduled for Saturday 19th March 2011 at the mission’s office on Holborn, West Central London.

The luncheon sale will be followed by Thanksgiving Service at the Brixton Mosque on Brixton Road, South West London.

The youths have also been drawn in the list of programmes and according to plan, they will be organising the Youth Diversity Show at the Rich Mix Cultural Foundation.

30th April has also been fixed for perhaps the biggest of all events – the fund-raising dance at the Lighthouse on Camberwell Road, South West London.

The will be a grand finale Christian Thanksgiving Service will take place at the usual Walworth Road Methodist Church on May 1, 2011.

The programmes are geared towards bringing together Sierra Leoneans in a dignified spirit of togetherness to commemorate and celebrate Sierra Leone’s 50th anniversary in grand style.

The programmes are being organised by members of the Sierra Leone High Commission in London in collaboration with Sierra Leoneans based in the United Kingdom under the umbrella Sierra Leone At 50.
