King Jimmy Boys Deny Thievery

Abass Bangura, the Chairman of Mobile Sellers Association at King Jimmy; the main business depot for used electronics and furniture told Sierra Express Media that his association is weary of the idea that has been spread around about them that every material sold at the King Jimmy markets is stolen property.  The vast majority of us here are engaged in genuine business and King Jimmy has earned over 60 years of marketing history.

He said most of the items you see us selling here are bought directly from Lebanese shops whenever they want to clear-up or renew their stocks to sell them at cheaper and affordable rates. We know we have a market for the items we sell and that’s what keeps us in business; the people come to buy, so we cater for them Bangura said.

Chairman Abass further said that their association has been registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare for over eight years now and is governed by the constitution with an effective working executive that regulates the happenings and actions at the market.

Speaking with one of the sellers who identified himself Michel, he asserted “those who do business with us have confidence in us and that is why they see us as a preferable option to the shop where cut throat prices are tagged to things we sell at reasonable cost here”.
