SLBC dumps President Koroma for Usman Boie Kamara

Nightmares took over meditations of viewers of SLBC shortly after President Koroma’s Germany visit went ‘off screen’ in place of SLPP’s Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara .  (Photo: SLPP aspirant Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara)

At exactly 7 PM past Tuesday, an SLBC broadcasted programme on President Koroma’s Germany visit was unexpectedly ‘cut off’ to make the way for a video documentary of one of SLPP’s Presidential hopefuls, Alhaji Usman Boie.

“What,” viewers yelled, “dismissing President Koroma’s State visit for an SLPP aspirant.” It is a fact that Usman Boie is SLPP’s current and most popular aspirant for party leadership.

He is practically tagged as ‘SLPP wonder politician’ and who is believed to ably and capably lead his party to governance come 2012.

According to the grapevine (the bulk of SLBC viewers in Freetown), Tuesday 22nd depicts a mental picture that government, be it party ‘A’ or ‘B’  no longer controls, intrudes or dictates the day to day running of Sierra Leone’s only national broadcaster.

Sources say top officials in the APC groused over SLBC’s unwarranted ‘cut off’ of aired President Koroma’s Germany visit in place of opponent SLPP aspirant.

Usman Boie’s video documentary has shown that he has the support of his party and may likely sweep the pool come March 5th.

It is indicated in the documentary that Usman Boie served the Ministry of Mines for considerable number of years, and was instrumental in the planning of policies differentiating and identifying ‘blood diamonds’ from those that are government’s owned.

A foreign national, Allan Patterson, who has worked with Usman Boie for over ten years, said in the video footage that the latter’s political undertakings is virtually an indication that Sierra Leone is the road to success.
