Interview Date for SLAJ Membership Applicants
Freetown – The Credentials Committee of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists is inviting ALL short-listed applicants for SLAJ membership to an interview on Tuesday 8 February 2011 at the SLAJ Headquarters at 56 Campbell Street, Freetown.
The interview will commence at 9.00 A.M and ALL applicants are encouraged to be on time. All applicants in Freetown are advised to check with the Administrative Secretary before the interview date to ascertain whether they have been shortlisted. The office number, which is on only on Monday – Friday, from 09:00 – 17:00, is 078 460 706.
Applicants in the provinces whose forms have been vetted by the Regional Executives will be processed in the regions and they should check with their SLAJ Regional Executives for details.
The National Secretariat would also like to remind all members of SLAJ that deadline for payment of monthly dues ahead of the Biennial Delegates’ conference to be held in March, is Friday 11 February 2011.
Membership dues can be paid into the Association’s account at Standard Chartered Bank in Freetown or at the SLAJ headquarters where a receipt will be duly issued. Those in the provinces can do so with the appropriate officials in Bo, Makeni, or Kenema.
The Secretariat notes that members who fail to pay against the stated deadline will NOT be allowed at the Biennial Conference which means they will neither vote nor be voted for.
