Police ASP takes rest at Pademba Prison
An Assistant Superintendent of police and a police constable Wednesday found rest at the Central Prison after being refused bail by Magistrate J.O Wellington of Court 2.
ASP Barabar Kamara and P.C Ibrahim Mansaray made their first appearance before Magistrate J.O Wellington on charges of conspiracy to committee a felony and fraudulent conversion.
According to the particulars offence, it is stated that the offences had been committed on diverse dates between the 23rd October and 31st September 2010, at the police garage at Kingtom Freetown.
While making submissions for bail, lawyers for the defense, D.G Thompson and CF Edwards, said that the police granted bail to the accused and are respectfully asking the Magistrate to go with such.
Responding, prosecuting lawyer Koroma calls on the Magistrate to refuse bail to all the accused on grounds that, they might interfere with prosecution witnesses.
The accused were refused bail and matter adjourned to a later date.
