Police Applicant Turns Amputee
Misuse of, and disregard for government property – to wit- police vehicles, has caused the amputation of the hand of a police applicant.
Aruna who happened to be an applicant in anticipation of employment as a police driver at the transport section Kingtom was hospitalized at the Emergency hospital owing to a road accident at Plum Heat Hill Station involving a police vehicle.
The head of police logistics and supervisor of police transport department, Superintendent Gibril Mohamed Turay aka GMT, two weeks ago, illegitimately instructed police constable Vandi Conteh to fill water into the tank of SLP 599 and deliver same to the residence of the mother of Vice President Alhaji Sam Sumana.
Superintendent GMT also told the police driver to supply water to one Mammy Wainday, a retired police officer and who has no right to such.
After supplying water to the residence of VP’s mother, Vandi refilled the vehicle and drove to the residence of Mammy Wainday at Hill Station, where, on his way, the vehicle bumped into a wall at a place called ‘Plum Heat’ and as a result caused the rupture of the right hand of a police applicant Aruna.
It could be recalled that Aruna, though an applicant, used to act as apprentice driver to police vehicles.
It has reached this medium that Superintendent GMT has been suspended and shall face the police court for disciplinary hearings.
Credible information has proved that the Superintendent joined the SLP in 1993 and throughout his stay he was always occupying lucrative offices within.
Recently, he was among the team of police officers that went to Darfur on an international peace mission.
He was also the officer that was at the forefront in the spreading of negative information concerning the operations and conducts of officers and men on that peace mission in Darfur/Sudan.
Superintendent GMT, we are told, was recently appointed as head of police transport after the suspension of kleptomaniac police ASP.
It has been chewed over that Aruna who now suffers amputation has no right to compensation as he wasn’t and isn’t a member of the police force.
