ASP Barbar, and others in Court today
The head of transport at Sierra Leone Police, Assistant Superintendent Barbar Kamara, and others, will be charged to court for stealing five police vehicles today.
Police officers attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) glaringly told our reporter that the advent of an investigation leading to the theft of police vehicles came as a result of revelations that the head of police transport had formed an unwholesome cabal at the Kingtom Police garage.
ASP Barbar Kamara, and a few others, are said to have formed a cabal that was constantly engaged in the stealing of vehicles at the Kingtom Police garage on dates unspecified.
Sources say the ASP was nabbed alongside other culprits owing to tip off disclosed to personnel attached to the CID.
It has reached this press that persons investigating ASP Barbar and others, have assembled sufficient evidence against them.
Leaked information from within circles of the police say the CID have concluded their investigation and shall unfailingly submit indictment chart to the court today (12/01/11) for judicial proceedings.
It is confirmed that the accused will face charges of larceny and conspiracy to commit larceny.
Although efforts to get comments from the director of CID proved futile, it is reliably told that ASP Barbar is making frantic effort to have his matter thrown into the dustbin.
