The host Rwanda after their training session at the Nyamirambo stadium are backing their 18 players named by the former St Etienne coach that together they can win the tournament.

The Rwandans are set to welcome Africa’s elite youth teams to a two-week Under 17 Continental football showdown.

The tournament, which has engrossed eight nations will showcase young African talent for the continent title.

Gambia, defending champions will have to tighten their grip if they are to return home with a back to back title.

Other great prospects are Senegal, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire and host Rwanda, also in their fold are Mali, Congo Brazzaville, and Burkina Faso.

Today reports from Kigali state that the Minister of Sports and Culture, Joseph Habineza said yesterday that preparations for the tournament had gone well as planned.

“Rwanda is ready to host Africa’s best teams. Hotels are set to host the teams and officials; stadiums, transport facilities and any other infrastructure required are all set,” he said.
