Bangura is a class player….Reid
Hønefoss coach Reid Vågnes stated FKH has signed a class player from Honefoss BK – Umaru Bangura (in photo). Coach Reid who has been working with the player for over two seasons believes the player has a solid increase in the field of play.
He also believes that the 23-year-old was Hønefoss’ best player in the just concluded season.
“A class player. He has very good ball benefits, good at setting the pace, has good radius, good head and good at reading the game, “said Reid Vågnes.
“Is he reinforcement for his new side FKH, It’s hard to say. I have been impressed by FKH this year; not many midfielders have been very solid. But Umaru is an international player,” he said.
Vågnes not surprised that Hønefoss now loses its elegant midfielder. “It has been in the cards. Especially when relegation became clear,” he said.
“It is a surprise that he chose FKH, because he has been wanted by many top clubs, Rosenborg and Aalesund. I’m a little surprised, yes. At first, I thought he would go to Aalesund.”
While Vågnes used Bangura in midfield, the 23-year-old central defender played in the national team to Sierra Leone.
Hønefoss coach believes Bangura can do a good job in central defence for his new club FKH.
“As I said then Umaru a player who is good at reading the game. He will work well as a central defender playing, “said Vågnes.
