O’Driscoll rates Dumbuya

Doncaster manager Sean O’Driscoll told rookie defender Mustapha Dumbuya  (in photo) that he can be as good as former England international Paul Parker!

The 23-year-old Sierra Leonean born in Britain joined Doncaster Rovers last summer following spells with non-league outfits Wingate & Finchley and Maidenhead United.

Since breaking into the Rovers team against Hull, Dumbuya has gone on to record 10 first-team appearances and O’Driscoll is tipping him to go all the way.

“He’s not streetwise in the sense of what you need to do with the football,” he said. “He’s got instinctive skills, we’re just trying to add to that generally, but he’s got blistering pace.” I keep saying to him I joined Fulham at 22 and Paul Parker was a youth trainee and he reminded me so much of Paul Parker.”

“I keep saying to him Paul went on to play for Manchester United and England, so the world is his oyster” … Sean O’Driscoll, Doncaster Rover’s manager.

However, this weekend their match with Barnsley was called-off due to the bad weather conditions in the United Kingdom. They are 10th in the Npower Championship table with 27 points from 19 matches.
