Celso Borges on Hat-trick
Fredrikstad star player, Celso Borges (in photo) on Thursday night scored a hat-trick as his side was promoted to the Norwegian big league for next season defeating Honefoss 8-1 on aggregate to qualify.
Talking to journalists, the Costa Rican said he never thought he will play at this temperature, but it seemed to be good for us, like everyone else in the FFK he was moved after the club was again ready for the big league.
“I can hardly speak, I’m so overwhelmed. All are wonderful people, made … I’m very, very happy, “said Borges.
Coach Tom Freddy Aune also had a big lump in his throat when he talked with journalist right after the match ends.
“This year is great. We have fought for so long. It is difficult to say anything. It’s a great bunch who has been through a lot the past eighteen months. This was a fantastic achievement, “said the coach.

Scare Shots from Konate
After the 4-1 victory away from home in the first of the two qualifying finals of the Championship, there was likely Honefoss to mark the opening goal away from home in Fredrikstad in the evening. It was over 10,000 or over spectators in the cold blast, and it was minus eight degrees at kickoff time, but FFK supporters plenty to warm up. Admittedly they were a little alarmed when Madiou Konate of Honefoss was suddenly alone with the keeper after about three minutes of play, but Hønefoss striker was more than eager and slammed the ball off target.
Hønefoss failed to create much more, and eventually traded mostly about the home team’s promotion party.
Definitely before the break
Goals were first roughly five minutes before the break, when Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson played free Celso Borges, who knocked in his first goal for the evening.
Just three minutes later Raio Piiroja crushed all resistance in the box after a corner kick and nodded into 2-0.
Thus went Hønefoss to break knowing that they had to score at least five goals in the second half to save space in the Premier League. It could they do not.
Instead, continued Fredrikstad to celebrate promotion with several goals.
Borges-hat-trick
And the main character on the football party was Costa Rican Borges.
First, he was front and pushed a return from Hønefoss keeper Thomas Solvoll after a hard shot from Armin Askar. Then he nodded in a good post from fellow Christian Gamboa and completed the hat-trick.
Borges had the last chance in the match too, but lifted the ball over instead of putting into his fourth for the evening.
Judge Svein Oddvar Moen sounded just as good of the game while there remained a few seconds. No extra time could have helped Hønefoss tonight.
It is ready for derby between Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad in Tippeligaen 2011.
